Short Track
The Keyesville short track course weaves its way in and around Keyesville, the staging and camping areas. It's sure to test the all-mountain rider in most disciplines. Cross-country climb narrowing to a double track reminiscent of a pump track, dual-slalom turns for some elbow-to-elbow race action, a wall-ride leading into single track jumps, and a finish the same as the DH course...you might want to wear your knee pads for this little short track. Here's a quick video teaser of the Short Track
Experts/Pros: 25 minutes then three laps
Sport: 20 minutes then two laps
Beginner: 15 minutes then two laps
Downhill:
The Downhill race will consist of two runs, one down the Dutch Flat course, the other down the Snake Pit course. Results will be based on the combined time for the two runs.
All-Mountain:
Compete in each of the above events on the same bike. Bike weigh-in's will be performed. Points will be awarded for the first ten positions in each category: 1st place, 1 point. 2nd place, 2 points.... 10th place, 10 points. Final results will be based on the lowest point-scores in each category.
Trials:
The Trials area is will include some challenging granite boulders, must-make moves, and tests of endurance and balance. It's a great spectator event as well, as these athletes ply their incredible bike control over seemingly impossible obstacles. It will challenge, and will be fun.
Kids Race:
The Kid's race is a short course around the main staging area. Nothing a four-year-old can't handle, and enough of a workout for a 9 year old to have a great time. The course will be laid out so that the crowd's cheering will keep them motivated through the laps of the course. This is the new generation of mountain bikers! Saturday at 1 p.m.
